Restore and deeply renew yourself in this ritual to welcome the dark half of the year with intention and pleasure. Suzanne Dunning accompanied by sound healing with Serena Malkani will guide you in a transformative journey of relaxation using restorative yoga and sound healing.
This class will guide you into progressive relaxation; beginning with gentle movement and easing into supported poses that allow us to soften to our deepest layers. As you are guided into deeper and deeper surrender- your body will be immersed in the healing vibrations of singing bowls.
Moving into the dark part of the year can be overwhelming- especially when it already feels like we have been in the dark for many months in some ways. But most of the world considers the darkness the fertile ground where life originates. The more we embrace the dark- the more the richness of that composted material supports the germination and growth of whats new to come.
Much of the world considers this time the beginning of the new year. In the Celtic tradition this time of year is called Samhain (pronounced SOW-en). Samhain is celebrated as a time when the doorway between this world and the spirit world is flung open. This is Scorpio season, where death leads to change, renewal and creative rebirth. In this workshop we’ll move through the threshold into the fertile dark half of the year where life begins, seeds rest and new ideas form.
Expect to find yourself propped up by blankets, bolsters and blocks as you passively receive the generous benefits of the poses and the healing vibration of sound.
Wear soft and comfortable clothing and arrive 10 minutes early to get settled and comfortable. Please bring your own props if you would like to- we will need 2 blankets, 2 blocks, 1 bolster, an optional eye mask. There are also props at the studio you can use.
This event will be limited in size to allow for social distancing.
