Join Sam La Bar for a mid day All-Levels Flow class. This class is welcome to all, and you are encouraged to listen to your body and modify the practice to your needs on a moment to moment basis.
T.K.V. Desikachar says “Yoga is 99% waste removal”. This class is designed to wake you up and it will invite you to feel more connected to your wholeness by letting go of that which no longer serves you. The class will begin with conscious breathwork, to awaken and extend the breath in order to welcome in clarity and presence for the practice as well as to have a solid anchor that will be the foundation from which you move from. You will gradually move towards building heat and strength in the body through mindful movement linked with the breath. The class will end with yoga nidra, a practice of deep conscious rest.
Yoga nidra has a myriad of benefits that can be experienced instantly and effortlessly. You will be nourished by simply doing nothing except listening & letting go. After a vigorous movement practice, it will nourish you deeply and you will feel recharged for the rest of your day.

This class is led by Sam La Bar, a mother, yoga teacher, and photographer. She has been teaching at Tosha since October 2020 after completing her 200 hour YTT with Suzanne Dunning in May 2020. She is currently finishing a 100-hour Yoga Nidra teacher training with Hilary Jackendoff and has found a deep connection and love for yoga nidra. She believes in sensation based and a bottom-up yoga approach, meaning that we must truly listen to ourselves and know that our “best self” or wholeness is not received from achieving, but from letting go and honoring the teacher that lives within each of us. There is nothing that we can do to be more whole, but rather it is an act of remembrance that we already are… and the path of yoga can help us remember.

About Samantha: Samantha is a yoga teacher, mother, and photographer who believes that yoga is a revolutionary act of reclaiming ourselves as we are by attuning to our body, breath, mind, and heart. Becoming a mother at a young age changed the course of her life dramatically which led her to the practice of yoga again and again. In 2020 she completed an 8-month long 200 hour yoga teacher training with Suzanne Dunning of Tosha Yoga in Arcata, CA. She complimented her education with a postpartum medicinal kitchen apprenticeship with Sophie Ward-Kohen to be able to further support mothers during the sacred postpartum period. She believes that maternal health is the foundation of societal health and therefore aims to facilitate this remembering through yoga, meditation, and community education.
