We offer you a practice on this holy Christmas day- a woven olfactory experience in which to anoint your body with oils from the desert betwixt yoga asana. Suzanne shares with you her love of holy oils and the practice of self massage with these olfactory sparks of fire.
The dark days require that we steep in the radiance that is to be found. Resins are condensed sunshine- liquid gold from the desert, and we have the great fortune to know these oils when our body is cold and day light is scarce.
Frankincense and myrrh are the holy resins of ancient times- used as guardians of the inner sanctum, protectors and allies - linking us to the lucent, holy, eternal.
For three luxurious hours we will meander through the inner forest of the body- illuminating areas of darkness with touch, scent, and attention. Infused with additional solar allies such as calendula, helichrysum, saffron- you will emerge charged for the dark.
Harnessing practices from qi gong, yoga marma therapy, and the vedas - our time together will be a mixture of yoga asana, self massage, and vocal release.
And there will be deep rest, as these dark days necessitate it.
