You will be introduced to techniques which will allow you to:

  • Reduce or eliminate back, neck, muscle and joint pain

  • Prevent muscle and joint degeneration and injury

  • Increase your energy, stamina, and flexibility

  • Reduce stress and improve your appearance

She will be starting the weekend with a free intro class on Friday, and then holding multiple class spaces over Saturday and Sunday for those interested in participating.

Below is the schedule and website links to an external website for registration.

Free Intro Class
Friday, January 17th
5:30PM - 6:30PM

The first class is a free, 1-hour workshop that introduces the Gokhale Method, and how to live pain free. Many workshops begin by showing you how to stretchsit. This is a way of sitting back in a seat and giving yourself gentle traction, which eases compression in your spine and stretches out tight or spasming back muscles.

Sign up for the free, 1-hour class here.

Foundations Course
Saturday, January 18th and Sunday January 19th
12:30PM - 6:30PM

The Gokhale Method®Foundations course consists of six 1.5 hour sessions that provide lifelong tools for healthy, pain-free posture and movement. You learn to use everyday movements like lying, sitting and walking to lengthen and reshape your spine. No special equipment or exercise is required, and the effects are often immediate. The Gokhale Method has guided thousands away from back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and other musculoskeletal ailments.

Sign up for the six, 90-minute classes here. The cost is $450 for six 90-minute classes.

Alumni Class
Saturday, January 19th
7:00PM - 9:00PM

The experience of our many alumni shows that ongoing practice, as well as learning new and advanced methods, make the experience of the Gokhale Method Foundations (GMF) course even more valuable.

These classes offer refresher training, as well as introduce new and advanced techniques. To ensure the quality of instruction, and to provide personalized attention, they are limited to a maximum of 8 students just like the Foundations Course. Hands-on alumni classes can be taken with any qualified Gokhale Method teacher regardless of who taught your Foundations Course. So if you're traveling to an area with a Gokhale Method qualified teacher, sign up for a class!

Sign up for the six, 90-minute classes here. The cost is $100 for this 2-hour class.

Abeja

About the facilitator:

A therapeutic bodyworker, yogini, sportswoman, and lifelong student of human anatomy, Abeja Hummel graduated from William and Mary's premed program with honors. She thought she knew a lot about how the musculo-skeletal system worked until she came into contact with Esther Gokhale's inspired, logical, and unique ideas.  Having extensively traveled in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East (and spending a lifetime in a body!) she immediately saw the inherent wisdom in the Gokhale Method.

Incorporating Esther's ideas into her life, her yoga and her bodywork practice has transformed Abeja's own posture as well as helped bring great improvement to her clients who had not progressed for years with traditional approaches.

Abeja lives with her husband and son in beautiful Mendocino County, California in a rural intentional community dedicated to lifelong learning and education in permaculture, sustainability, and restoration of the earth and ourselves.
